The Public Health Ophthalmology course is designed to equip eye care professionals and planners with the knowledge and skills to implement the global Vision 2020 program, at country and district level. The course is designed in keeping with Vision 2020 aims, priorities and strategies.
The purpose of training in Public Health Ophthalmology is to reduce eye diseases, visual loss and disability in a community through the application of health promotion, Preventive and therapeutic measures integrated into the delivery of health care at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
